As we approach the end of another busy year, we’re pausing to celebrate the projects and events that have defined 2025 for us; each one a reminder of what’s possible with great people and beautiful stone.

Back in April, we were delighted to join the conversation on the ethical use of stone at @talksatthelane , where architect and stonemason @carlesoliverbarcelo shared his pioneering approach to sustainable design.

His work with IBAVI in the Balearic Islands shows how local materials and climate-responsive design can transform communities. 🌿

Aways a good moment when the scaffolding comes down and this Northumberland new build doesn’t disappoint.

Designed by @gilesarthurarchitects , the house blends modern farmhouse style with its rural setting beautifully. Our Buff Mix walling paired with Blaxter quoins adds warmth, texture and just the right amount of contrast.

Inside, the project continues to gather momentum, with the kitchen, joinery and painting well underway. A huge congratulations to @matthewleejoinery for their excellent craftsmanship throughout. Completion and landscaping are now just around the corner.

(The sheep, however, remain unimpressed 🐑😂)

We’re proud to see our Hazeldean Sandstone featured on The Mint Building, a stunning development in the heart of Edinburgh’s historic New Town.

Designed by Hoskins Architecture and delivered by @isg.construction in partnership with @chris_stewart_group , the building showcases a thoughtful balance between modern architecture and the city’s traditional character.

Ashlar Hazeldean Sandstone was chosen to complement Edinburgh’s renowned Craigleith sandstone: the original stone that gives the city its famous architectural appearance. This careful material selection ensures the new façade blends seamlessly with its surroundings while offering a refined modern finish.

A fantastic project that celebrates craftsmanship, collaboration, and respect for Edinburgh’s architectural heritage.
