We’re proud to have played a key role in the restoration of Stoneypath Tower, a striking 16th-century tower house nestled in the East Lothian countryside. It is said that Oliver Cromwell’s troops removed the roof after sacking the tower in the 1650s!

This historic structure, once a formidable stronghold, has been expertly restored by G Brown Stonemasons, with our careful craftsmanship bringing new life to its remarkable features.

As part of the restoration, we supplied a new spiral staircase with a central newel post, ensuring the tower retains its historic character while enhancing accessibility. Corbel stones to support the parapet wall and voussoirs for the vaulted stone ceilings were also supplied alongside rubble walling for the external walls and masonry for the parapet wall and paving around the parapet, reinstating the tower’s impressive silhouette.

Location: Haddington, East Lothian

Status: Completed.
