We’re proud to be contributing our stone to the Stone Tapestry at next month’s @surfacethinking .

Created by @squirepartners with @stonefederation , the Stone Tapestry brings together raw and finished stone to showcase texture, tone and geological character with a strong focus on the UK’s indigenous stones.

The tapestry is a collaborative effort featuring @albionstone , @britannicus_stone , Hutton Stone Co Ltd, @marblecollective.co , @stamfordstoneco , @thestonemasonrycompany and @penrhyn_welsh_slate

It’s a brilliant example of how understanding stone’s formation can unlock its full potential, from sustainability and performance to natural beauty.

This new build was beautifully crafted back in 202

This new build was beautifully crafted back in 2024 by @primepropertyventuresltd and designed by Graeme Kyle Architect in collaboration with Rory Gibson Architects, finished with our Darney aged walling.

The warm, textured sandstone pairs effortlessly with the crisp white render and timber detailing, striking that sweet balance between modern elegance and natural charm. This is the kind of design that feels fresh today and will still look flawless decades from now.

A huge shout-out to the team for such exceptional workmanship!

A look back at our contribution to the restoration of Greenlaw Town Hall, a landmark project that showed just how far thoughtful stone craft can take a historic building.

We supplied and worked Swinton Sandstone directly from our quarry, shaping new elements to blend seamlessly with the original Georgian fabric. Every block was crafted to support the design team’s aim of creating long-lasting, sustainable use without altering the building’s external character.

Seeing our material and workmanship play a role in bringing this important civic building back into confident use remains a proud moment for our team.

A closer look at the Aboyne Castle extension, a project where traditional craft and careful detailing came together beautifully.

We supplied Peak Moor stone throughout the new addition, shaping it for window and door surrounds, archways, plinth stone, copes and moulded string courses. The extension called for an impressive level of precision, from fine profiles to larger architectural elements that needed both strength and subtlety.

Some of the standout details are the carved pediments, brought to life by our talented carver Michelle @artistorguk , whose work added a refined depth to the façade.

It’s the sort of project that reminds us how timeless materials like natural stone can help heritage places evolve with confidence. Looking ahead, we’re excited to see more restorations embracing this level of craft.
